Had to share something amusing…
My partner in crime saw this on FB and shared it with me. I liked it so much, I’m sharing it with you.
My mum taught me well:
Religion …….. “You better pray that comes out of the carpet”
Logic …………. “Because I said so, that’s why”
Irony…………. “Keep crying and I’ll give you something to cry about”
Wisdom……… “When you get to my age you’ll understand”
Justice ……….. “One day you’ll have kids, and I hope they turn out just like you!!”
Will be returning soon with new Six Sentence Sunday snippets soon. Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Much love,
Bethany
Six Sentence Sunday – Warrick’s Angel – Oct. 16, 2011
Hello everyone. Happy Sunday. It’s that time again. Time to get my Six on. I’ve cheated a little bit and skipped ahead some. Warrick finally got his hands on Kaylee…after getting punched and kicked some of course. He’s now managed to tackle her and has her pinned. ;) Hope you enjoy it.
Warrick shifted, gripping both of her hands in one of his gently. His other hand slid down her arm, raising goose bumps all over her body, making her squirm despite being pinned down. He leaned close, his warm breath drifted across her face as he brushed a fingertip from the corner of her eye to her hairline, tracing the path of her tears and wiping them away. Confusion tore at Kaylee as part of her mind screamed he was a vampire – her enemy. A softer side of her told her he wasn’t like all the others she’d hunted. He closed the distance, laying his cheek against hers in such an incredibly gentle gesture, she held still at the magic of it.

Six Sentence Sunday – Warrick’s Angel – October 9, 2011
Greetings! Happy Sunday to everyone. Thank you so much for coming back each week to read my snippets and leave comments. This week, I’m switching back to Warrick’s Angel. This is a bit after the last entry from W.A., but not by much. Warrick’s still trying to get on Kaylee’s good side…
“I’m not going to hurt you, Kaylee,” his voice came out low and a tad out of breath.
She stopped moving, momentarily stunned to hear him say her name until she remembered that she was wearing her necklace, with her name dangling from the chain for the entire world to see. Mr. Tall, dark and fangsome had tried a classic trick. Make a connection with the victim by disarming them.
“Buggar off, mate!” She imitated his accent quite well, lacing it with an overdose of sarcasm.

Six Sentence Sunday – Oct. 2, 2011 – Taming The Wildcat
Happy Sunday to everyone! October is here already. This year has gone by extremely fast for me. I’ve got another snippet from “Taming The Wildcat” for you this week. I hope you enjoy it. I’ll try to post something different next week. This follows last week’s snippet. Summer’s mission to destroy the pirates is nearly complete.
They were all gone. There was no ship to defend. No friends to protect. Just her and the soul-stealing need for vengeance. Low on solid-state ammunition to fire, she’d use the fighter itself as the final deadly torpedo. A final act, the least she could do to avenge them.

Six Sentence Sunday – Taming The Wildcat – Sept. 25, 2011
Morning everyone. Happy Sunday. I’m barely awake as I post this…need more sleep! Here’s another snippet from “Taming The Wildcat”. This follows last week’s snippet. Summer’s the last one left to fight against the pirates.
She came at the Cutlass like death from above, blasting their shield generators on each side of the bridge with deadly accuracy before peeling off again to disappear into the asteroid field. Hit and run. Fire and hide. Taking those out would remove the shield grid protecting the control center of the destroyer. Leaving a thick section of transparent aluminum between the captain and crew of the pirate ship and cold, hard space. She grinned, the expression humorless.

Six Sentence Sunday – Taming The Wildcat – Sept. 18, 2011
Hello and happy Sunday to you all. Thought I’d switch things up today and post a snippet from “Taming The Wildcat”, the book I co-authored with Mina Carter (available now from Summerhouse Publishing, Amazon.com, etc…see Taming The Wildcat page for reviews and more buy links)
This is from a battle scene in which the heroine, Summer King has just lost the last of her friends and fellow pilots in an attack by space pirates.
She automatically took evasive action, her body and instincts taking over as she screamed at the top of her lungs. She screamed so hard her throat burned and her voice cracked. Caution thrown to the wind, Summer hit the asteroid field at full speed, weaving between the giant space rocks as if they were merely a slalom course back home.
“You fucking bastards!”
Even though she knew they couldn’t hear her, she screamed at the enemy as she bore down on them. Tears streamed down her cheeks unchecked.

Six Sentence Sunday – Warrick’s Angel – September 11, 2011
Hello everyone. Here we are on the 10th anniversary of 9/11. My heart still breaks to this day at the senseless loss of life on that day. I’ll never understand the kind of hate that led up to the events. I pray we never see anything like it again.
I’d like to thank those of you that keep coming back each week and leave comments. Your comments and kind words are very much appreciated and I find them very encouraging.
Here’s another snippet from Warrick’s Angel. It follows last week’s post. Who could blame a vampire hunter for breaking out a can of whoop ass upon finding a vampire in her house? Kaylee isn’t charmed by Warrick just yet.
“It’s not how it looks…” he started to say, but Kaylee cut him short with a spinning back-kick aimed for his head. He barely got his arm high enough to block her foot, but the force of the kick was enough to knock him sideways to give her more room to leap past him into the hallway. Still, she felt his fingers graze her heel as she landed. The momentum from her jump caused her to smack into the wall, but she pushed off from it and grabbed for the doorknob to the weapons room next to her bedroom. The knob didn’t budge when she tried to twist it.
“Damn it!”

Six Sentence Sunday – Warrick’s Angel – Sept. 4
Greetings and salutations friends! I hope you’re all having a wonderful Sunday. Today, I’m going back to “Warrick’s Angel”. Last time, Warrick hadn’t been able to wait for permission to take what he needed from Kaylee to save his life. This snippet is close to just after that last section…
Licking his lips, he lifted his head and opened his mouth to try to explain what he was doing, but he didn’t get even get that far. Her hand closed into a fist as she moved her arm with almost preternatural speed. Pulling out of his hands, she yanked her arm back only to whip it forward to punch him straight in his mouth, knocking him completely off of the bed. He landed flat on his back with an undignified thump.
Suddenly Warrick realized he had assumed wrong. Kaylee wasn’t terrified…she was furious.

Six Sentence Sunday – Star Struck (#2) – Aug. 28
Greetings everyone. Here’s the second snippet from “Star Struck”. It’s just after last week’s entry. Hope you enjoy it. (Remember, Kyle opened a video chat on Jasmine.)
Stalling for time, she stared at him a few moments more. Tousled blond hair, dark green eyes…chiseled cheekbones, a jaw line that begged to be nibbled on and full lips that she’d give anything to kiss.
Kyle’s eyebrow winged up and he smirked before teasing her. “Are you going to uncover your cam or not?” The smirk slowly turned into a smile. “I didn’t take you to be a chicken shit.”

Six Sentence Sunday – Star Struck
Greetings! Happy Sunday everyone. Here’s a snippet from my newest WIP, “Star Struck”.
Her ass did a Peter Pan right off the end of the seat and took a flying leap to land on the floor with a thump. Weeee - very undignified. Heart slamming against her ribs in a mad rhythm, Jasmine peeked over the edge of the desk at the face on her monitor.
There in living, breathing, moving color plain as day, he was -Kyle friggin’ Spencer. Part of her knew all along that it had really been him, but to see actual proof…she needed to get a grip and answer him. Hopefully without squeaking or looking like a complete idiot.
